While not everyone likes the look of a sketch, a large number of people like the results from using the Lucis art plugin (now a full-blown program. For the average person, even the plugin from Lucis Art can be fairly expensive.

Although the results of this tutorial won't give you an exact duplication of the results you get from lucis art, it comes pretty close and is created only by using techniques and layers or options that come with Photoshop.

What you get from the tutorial will depend on what you start with in terms of image quality, amount of noise, and how strongly you apply the effects used in the tutorial.
