I figured it was way past time to update my old calendar tutorial. The last template I put out was 2008. The new one is 2010 and comes with 4 different designs, as opposed to 1. (The old tutorial with the 2008 template can be found here.) Be sure to have a look at the horizontal calendar template, and the new 'forever' calendar template which allows you to move the dates and change the year so it can become a perpetual calendar template. For those who don't want to make the adjustments themselves every year, I'll be uploading new templates each year.

Here's a sample of the full calendar, using one of the designs that comes with it. It is designed to print @300dpi as 19" high X 12.5" wide (that's a size that can be printed on wide-carriage printers, or by a print shop), but if you reduce the dpi (which can be done for printing on poster paper) you can get a rather large sized calendar out of it - possibly as large as 36" high. This is the "Patriot" set.

Other decorative files included with this calendar template are a Canadian design, a retro design with a film photo frame, and a simple set of swirled frames in a nice country style.

For those who don't have photoshop or who can't open PSD files, the .jpg files for each design are available to download. If you want to add your photo to the header section, you will need an editing program that has the capability for adding layers. Simply open the jpg file in your editing program, open your photo or graphic and copy it to a new layer above the calendar template. Resize your image to fit the white area in the calendar, add any other embellishments, flatten and save and you are ready to print your calendar.
