To download the texture files, click the thumbnail. The full size download opens in a new window. Right click, and select "save as" to save the file to your own computer - many files were created in photoshop, and there are some larger resolution photographic files in the texture section.
These abstract images are a great way to add interest to your backgrounds or layered files. If you haven't used a 3D rendering software before, why not give it a try. You can do some fun and amazing things with textures - you can even use these as a starting point for creating your own textures. Try adding your own touches or creative process - from one free texture you could turn out three or four files for your own use. Make your own portrait backgrounds, use them for book or cd covers - be creative and have fun.
Abstract texture files can be created using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Paint, TwistedBrush Open Studio (free), PD Artist or any similar drawing/painting software. Even software that creates abstract and random fractals, like Apophysis, can turn out some beautiful abstract images suitable for backgrounds and textures.
If you run into any problems at all downloading any of these, please let us know. Also remember - we're happy to provide custom textures if you can't find something you need.
