Photoshop templates are files in the native photoshop format. That format is called .psd, and while these are designed in and for use in photoshop & photoshop elements, there are some other graphic and photo editing softwares that will import .psd files. I'm not sure whether the other programs will allow all the functionality and styles incorporated into the photoshop files, but if the editing program has layer capabilities and will open .psd files, you should be able to make use of these royalty free templates.
If anyone would rather have these templates as layered .tiff files, please let me know and I'll re-save the psd files in the .tiff format and upload them to this section as well.
To use these photoshop templates, simply open them in your photoshop program (these were created in either CS2 or CS3). In the layer palette you'll find all the layers associated with the various components in each file. Text can be altered, changed or removed in most cases.
